His Grace Is Sufficient

You may have wondered where I've been lately.
Maybe not.
Perhaps you've noticed I haven't blogged much in the last week or so.
Maybe not.

Well, the reason is quite simple.
I didn't felt like doing much of anything.
In fact, it was all I could do to just breathe.
I didn't have much of an appetite.
I didn't feel like working in my studio.

The doctors have given my mom a very short time.
Just after they said she was in remission,
the breast cancer has come back.
This time, two aggressive tumors in her brain.

My best friend will soon be gone.

And right now,
my business,
blogging,
etsy sales,
decorating,
twitter,
facebook
none of that
really matters to me.

Over the next few months,
I will be traveling to be with her
as much as possible.

My shop and store will be closed on and off
over the summer.

If you are of the praying sort,
please lift up my momma.
The doctors say that because of where the tumors are,
she won't have pain at the end.

That's a relief,
but still my heart is breaking.

"My grace is sufficient for thee"
2 Cor 12:9

His grace is amazing.

  1. Oh my dear. I will for sure be keeping you in my prayers. I have went to battle with breast cancer two times now...so far all my reports are clean and clear. The second time it came back I had been cancer free for 7 years...Monday I lost a very close friend to this dreaded disease...so I can relate very closely to your post today. :( My heart hurts for you.
I want you to know I will be praying consistantly for you and your family, I do not say this flipantly but truthfully. I will add you to my prayer list.
May God wrap his loving arms around each of you and give his comfort and peace and may you know you are LOVED.

  2. Oh my goodness, I am so, so sorry. You don't know me but I think you know my daughter, Heidi Deal. She and I are extremely close and if I were in your mother's shoes I'd be worried to death about Heidi and how she'd survive without me. So please, please be strong for her!!!! Show her you WILL survive.
I was diagnosed with cancer in 1979 and was told I wouldn't live, guess what - He is a merciful and loving God and I am here today!! Tell her to keep looking up b/c that's where her help comes from and I firmly believe a positive attitude helped me survive.
I've also had alot of health problems lately (mainly due to cancer/treatment) and my gastro doctor told me the other day, "Don't ask God to move that mountain, ask him to give you strength to climb it". I love it!!!! I believe in prayer and I will lift you and your family up, God knows who you are. Believe and trust!!!

    Luke 11:9-10

  4. Oh Sweetie. I am so, so very sorry to hear this.
Praying for you right now. You are so wise to know your limitations: It's okay to let everything else go right now. Soak in every moment you can with your mom. You'll never regret it.
Sending hugs your way. Lots of hugs.

  8. Almighty God wrap your warm, safe loving arms around this momma, daughter and family.
2 Chronicles 32:7-8 I am strong and courageous. I am not afraid or discouraged, because the Lord my God is with me to help me fight my battles.

Psalm 147:3 He heals my broken heart and binds up my wounds (curing my pains and sorrows).

I call out to High God, the God who holds me together. He sends orders from heaven and saves me. God delivers generous love, he makes good on His word. Psalm 57:2-3

I have never been through anything like this yet but my heart aches and cries right along with you. Here's a big hug to you hun.

  12. You will be in my thoughts and prayers. No matter the circumstances, it is very difficult to lose a mother. My mother passed away nine years ago and there are still times that I feel just like you...just don't want to do anything! Enjoy the time you have with your mother! May God grant strength to you, your mom, and your family through this difficult time in your life. God Bless You!
